The protagonist, Matsukaze Tenma, loves soccer. However, it is controlled by the Fifth Sector and he is highly against that. He soon realizes that soccer is not how he imagined it to be. Tenma tries out for the Raimon soccer team and passes. Now with his new friends, he and Raimon go against organized soccer that is being rigged by Fifth Sector and is determined to defend his soccer honor.
